What we do
Pupils who have a place in the Language Resource will access:
• specialist 1:1 teaching from the qualified teacher
• speech and language therapy, usually 1:1
• 1:1 support from a trained Language Resource Assistant (LRA)
• small group work in the Social Use of Language Programme.

All of these sessions are given weekly.

In addition the pupils are supported in class by an LRA in the core subjects of English, Maths and Science. Other subjects are supported if need arises and when staff timetables allow.
We give information and advice about our pupils to all teaching staff to enable them to meet the needs of pupils with speech and language difficulties in class.
The teaching staff is given training by the language resource manager on working with pupils with SLCN.
